Long IFR Flight
The long cross-country flight that I needed to make for my IFR certification
was from Livermore California to Arcata California, about a 250 mile trip each way.
I took the day off on the 23rd to get this done. The trip there and back
took about 5 hours.
We had ice accumulating on the plane's wings during our descent which was
rather interesting, and flew in actual IFR conditions for over 2 hours.
Some examples of what it's like are shown below.

Looking out the front, right side of the plane. This was
ZERO visibility (and some rain)

Looking straight in front of the plane

After about 2 hours of that Zero visibility travel, I finally
found myself in between two cloud layers. Pictures don't do justice to how
beautiful it was.

Finally out of the weather near Clear Lake (Northern
California). I'm flying towards Sacramento at this time.

If you look closely, you can see some antennas sticking out of
the clouds near Sacramento.
